NRA Pistol Course
Venture Crew 71 will offer the NRA Pistol course on 30 May 2011 at Camp Birch. The course will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Two versions of the course will be offered, the basic pistol course for $30 and a concealed carry course for $50. The concealed carry course will require an additional range day to be scheduled later.
All materials, 22 cal handguns with 22 cal long rifle ammunition will be furnished. Concealed carry participants may bring their own firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition if they are not 22 cal LR.
These courses are open to all registered BSA Venturers and selected associated adults. Permission/Liability release forms will be required of all. The morning will consist of classroom sessions and we will go to the range in the afternoon for actual shooting. Empty firearms may be brought into the classroom for demonstration and familiarization purposes but absolutely no ammunition will be allowed in the classroom. All firearms will be checked at the door.
All instructors are certified/registered NRA instructors. These courses are the NRA Basic Pistol Course and NRA Basic Pistol Certification will be issued to those who pass the course.
